Retriever Aquatic Club offers swimming programs, year-round, for swimmers of all levels of ability and interest. Indoors all year and outdoors, from April to November, we will help you grow as a swimmer.

 

Pre-triever Programs

 

Swimming Lessons

Children (aged 6 & Up) and adults of all ages should be comfortable, competent and most importantly, SAFE in pools and the ocean.

Pre-triever swimming lessons are private and semi-private and offer:

  • Acclimation to the water environment
  • Basic safety and survival techniques
  • Foundational skills for propulsion with arms and legs
  • Development of each of the competitive swimming strokes
  • Transition into Pre-triever Stroke Clinics

Stroke Clinics

Children (aged 6 & Up) who have learned to swim and now demonstrate an interest in continuing to swimming.

Pre-triever stroke clinics provide an opportunity for new swimmers to swim more, learn more and become stronger and more confident as athletes.

Stroke clinics focus swimmers on fundamental techniques and skills:

  • Stroke drills that will improve distance per stroke cycle, improving leg strength and arm efficiency.
  • Improved body lines, a strong kick and proper stroke cycle timing.
  • Proper turning, starting and transition techniques. Efficiency and conservation of energy with every step
  • Swimming terminology explained and better understood.
  • Better self-awareness, practice skills and lane etiquette.
  • Introduction of dry land skill and exercise

Retriever Aquatic Club Programs

 

Age Group Swimming Groups

Children (aged 7-10 yo) who have demonstrated an interest in becoming a competitive swimmer and perform at a level of competency consistent with a typical Stroke Clinic graduate.

Retriever Age Group swimming groups further develop the swimmer’s techniques via ongoing instruction and feedback.

Groups are divided by age and experience. They are the gateway to the fun and exciting world of competitive swimming.

The Age Group swimming curriculum offers a balanced variety of activities directed toward continuing technique development and improved performance levels.

Dryland exercises and conditioning increases to accelerate the swimmers pursuit of physical fitness and improved swimming performance.

The progression of these groups prepare swimmers for advancement into Retriever Junior swimming groups.

 

Junior Swimming Groups

Swimmers (aged 9-13 yo) who have demonstrated interest and determination toward becoming a successful competitive swimmer.

Retriever Junior swimming groups further develop the swimmer’s techniques via ongoing instruction and feedback. Videotaping and video review helps the swimmers develop visual models for form and improve their self-awareness.

Junior Yellow & Gold Groups are divided by age and sub-divided by experience. They are the next, logical step toward becoming a high level performer in the pool.

The Junior Group swimming curriculum offers a balanced variety of activities directed toward continuing technique development and improved performance levels.

Dryland exercises and conditioning increases to accelerate the swimmers pursuit of physical fitness and improved swimming performance.

The progression of these groups prepare swimmers for advancement into Retriever Senior swimming groups.

 

Senior Swimming Group

Swimmers (aged 13 & Up) who have demonstrated interest and determination toward becoming a successful competitive swimmer.

Retriever Senior swimming groups offer both high performance and fitness swimming avenues.

The Senior Yellow & Gold track is for accomplished swimmers wishing to pursue high goals and becoming the best swimmer they can be. They will be offered morning practices, an escalated dryland program and a training and competition program  preparation for the near and not so near future.

Swimmers busy with multiple extracurricular activities and under time constraints may continue to challenge themselves in the Pre-Senior group. No morning practices or Saturday practices.

Videotaping and video review will helps the swimmers develop visual models for form and improve their self-awareness.

The Senior Group swimming curriculum offers a balanced variety of activities directed toward continuing technique development and improved performance levels.

Dryland exercises and conditioning increases to accelerate the swimmers pursuit of physical fitness and improved swimming performance.

The progression of these groups prepare swimmers for advancement into Retriever Senior swimming groups.
